A Tour of the Centre

Tours for prospective parents are generally conducted every three weeks on a Friday at 2pm, the tour usually takes an hour which gives you the opportunity to see our centre in action. These tours are very popular so please contact the centre or email a.c.hynes@leeds.ac.uk to arrange a date.

Fees and Government Funding

The Children Act gave the Secretary of State powers to increase the number of hours of free early education entitlement; the Secretary announced that by 2010 all children will be entitled to 15 hours from the term after their 3rd birthday, accessed flexibly over a minimum of 3 days if parents need it. The Government sought Pathfinder Authorities to implement the policy from April 2007. Leeds City Council Early Years Service has been successful in being selected to pilot the increase from 12.5 hours to 15 hours from April 2007.

As a provider Bright Beginnings have joined the pathfinder to secure the additional funding for parents and to work to ensure we provide the best support for our young learners and their families.

Funding is available for 38 weeks across the financial year. The 38 weeks will be funded to coincide with the school calendar.

What kind of activities are on offer?

Activities and play experiences are planned according to the child's changing needs and developing power, they will provide learning and fun experiences appropriate to the child's stage of development. The attitudes and feelings of young children are vitally important and every effort is made to engage children in the joy of discovery, experimenting and creating.
