Visiting Students and Volunteers

Bright Beginnings Childcare Centre welcomes students, as it recognises the importance in students gaining access to a 'quality' practical learning environment.

Staff believe that the learning/practical experiences they can offer students is vital to enhance their personal development, whilst displaying a positive and pro-active approach to offering quality childcare. As the centre is also attached to one of the largest teaching establishments in the country we feel it is important that we also recognise the needs of students in general and work to show our commitment at the centre to offer a positive learning experience. We believe that wherever possible we should offer students on site the opportunity to gain maximum benefit from the time they spend working alongside experienced staff in the centre.

The Centre recognises the skills and knowledge that the team posses and believe that any committed and dedicated practitioner should pass on their skills, to those training to work in the field of childcare. Students actively learn from working alongside qualified staff who manage and maintain their role effectively in a positive and motivated way, witnessing 'quality' care is the best way in which to learn and discover how to provide it. Students are an integral part of any nursery and give us an opportunity to re-examine our work and how we account for what we do.

Visiting students will have their photograph displayed on your child's room door, staff will introduce you to any visiting student. Visiting students are provided with black tabards and are not included within the ratios of children.
