Meeting Honey Bees at the School of Earth and Environment

We were kindly invited by the School of Earth and Environment to first see the observational hive, where a small group of Millipedes children  were able to see the honey bees close up and hard at work, prompting plenty of questions including how honey is produced and whether or not there is a King Bee!

The children learnt a great deal on their visit, which concluded with a visit to the three outdoor hives.

Dragonflies and Grasshoppers will be visiting over the next few days.

Thank you to the School of Earth and Environment for having us!
